Children

The Children's Ministry at The Church of Tuscaloosa ranges in age from
newborn through 5th grade. Within the Ministry there are three main areas:

1) "The Nest" - Newborn - two year olds
2) "The Clubhouse" - preschool; ages two and three years old
3) "The Peak" - Elementary K-5th grade.

Each area is planned and developed with age appropriate developmental activities that center around our core goals and most of all with the displaying the Love of Christ.

Check-In and Check-Out is designed to be fast, easy, and secure. If it's your first time checking your child into our system, please let us know and we can help walk you through the process. Upon check-in, you and your child will receive a matching identification sticker. Please hold on to this sticker, as it matches you to your child and is necessary for check-out.

On Sunday mornings in the Clubhouse, your child will arrive to an energetic environment and engage in and opening activity that's designed to be fun and relate to their Bible lesson for the day. Your child will then experience a large group Bible lesson and songs. Your child will then create a craft to match their lesson as they engage and interact with other kids as well about their lesson for the day.

The Nest is for newborns through 2 year olds. Children are separated into three different rooms: infants, 1 year olds, and 2 year olds. Our volunteers love your babies, pray for them, and share God’s love with them through developmentally appropriate activities. We strive to make all our rooms safe, clean, and loving environments where parents feel comfortable leaving their children in our care.

Please help us keep all of our babies healthy by not bringing your child if he or she has been sick within the last 24 hours.

If you would feel more comfortable bringing your child to worship with you, please take advantage of our “Family Room” attached directly to our sanctuary.

Sunday mornings in The Peak are fun and energetic! We use the Orange curriculum to guide our students into worship with skits, games, songs, and Bible lessons. Children are able to learn more about Jesus in an interactive, exciting environment.

At TCAT we believe that most spiritual growth happens inside the home. We desire to equip parents for conversations and teachable moments in everyday life. “Parent Cues” are just one way we do this. These cards are made available at the beginning of each month and always coincide with that month’s curriculum.

Check out our Family Resource wall in the foyer! This is where parents can pick up their Parent Cues, parenting resources, books, and more.
